As I sat down for Thanksgiving dinner, I couldn't help but think back to what I was doing that day, one year earlier. I was in Mexico, getting ready to my first Ironman. What an amazing day.
Then I thought about everything that has happened from then until now. So many things....so many new friends made....so many new places visited.....new emotions felt....old wounds slightly irritated.....breakthroughs made......fears faced head on.....WOW! How did it all go by so fast??
And as I sit here, thinking ahead to the upcoming year, I can't help but get both excited and a bit scared. I have some real adventures on my calendar already, and I'm very excited to share my journey with you.
New year...new gear....new fear....new cheer.

Cute! Happy 2011, and lets kick this cold weather south. Iowa and MN get the warmer stuff, south of us gets the colder stuff. Now we need Canada in on this dont we?
